Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues,

It is my great honor and pleasure to hold the 11th meeting of Asiaspine in Japan in the year of Tokyo Olympic Games. The meeting will be held at Yokohama, well-known city close to Tokyo, which is only 30 minutes ride with commuter’s train from Haneda International Airport. Meeting this year will be combined with the 35th annual meeting of Neurospinal Society of Japan (NSJ). Although the Asiaspine meeting part will start in the afternoon of 19. June with the joint symposium “Cervical artificial disc”. I also welcome all Asiaspine members to our domestic meeting part for free to discuss with us.

Aside from a symposium in Asiaspine meeting organized by the editors of “Neurospine” journal about “Endoscopic Spine Surgery, those symposiums planned for the NSJ meeting may also be stimulating also for the Asiaspine members such as ‘Gravity and Bipedalism, what humans gained and lost?’, ‘New Optical Devices which may aid Spine Surgery’, ‘Life Planning of Spine Surgeons’, and ‘Treatment of Hyper-vascular Spinal Disease’. Although official language of these domestic part is Japanese, we ask all Japanese presenters to prepare their key slides in English for the participants abroad. Asides, some of our young colleagues are ready to help you for enhance bidirectional communication upon your request.

A common theme of the both meetings are set as ‘Time to Define Neurospine’. I hope these meeting will be a good opportunity to consider the meaning of spine surgery by the hands of neurosurgeons.

Now travel among Asian countries are widely restricted to prevent further spread of new unknown virus. However, I hope this problem will be settled by this coming meeting. And I and the local organizing committee are looking forward to seeing you in Yokohama.
